During our absence we are renting out a newly renovated holiday apartment in one of the most picturesque areas of Greece on the outskirts of the charming village of Lafkos in South Pelion. The fully equipped residence is close to the sea, perfect for all seasons and offers 120 square meters on two floors as well as a very large garden with its own well.

The neighbourhood

Before we present the house in more detail, here is a brief overview of the wonderful neighborhood, which makes almost every holiday dream come true.

A two-minute walk away from the house is the most beautiful and car-free “Platia” far and wide, with great restaurants, a supermarket, a nearby bakery and the oldest café in Greece, which opened first time in 1785. More information about the beautiful and original village can be found here.

The surroundings

Just a stone’s throw from the Platia, below the veranda of the holiday apartment, the lush Pelion countryside begins, with fantastic views of the surrounding area.

In addition, both coasts of the peninsula with their very different character can be reached in a few minutes by car.

There is hardly any other place that offers more variety and amenities.

Enchanting hiking trails lead directly from the house to picturesque coastal towns and impressive mountain villages.

Lafkos in South Pelion brings together mountains, sea and nature with a very charming village. The Pelion peninsula is certainly one of the best places in Greece for beach vacationers, nature lovers and hikers.

Cooking and Dinner

If you like cooking, our kitchen gives you everything you might desire. 

There is beautiful crockery and high-quality furniture and appliances, from the cooker and oven to the smoothie maker, espresso machine and dishwasher. We also have a cozy dining table with seating for 6 in the holiday home.

On top of that, our pantry has everything you need and offers a wide range of food, drinks, spices and herbs that can be used as desired.

Sleeping

Upstairs are two lovingly bedrooms, with an exceptional view over the green valleys and the little village, Lafkos. 

There is additional space for a baby crib or mattress too.

Wooden cabinets providing enough storage capacity for fashion, winter gear and summer season together. 

Linen curtains and wooden shutters in any room ensure that the whole house can be completely darkened.

Balcony

The bedrooms have wooden parquet floor and a large balcony with a fantastic panorama.

Living room

The living room has additional a very comfortable sleeping couch and a single bed for three guests more.

One highlight at the residence is the fire place.

There is more than enough space to have a drink, read a book, listen to music or watch a movie, connecting your device to our HIFI sound system via 24-bit Bluetooth.

Workspace

Also, a small workspace is available, with a laser printing device.

Bathroom

The main bathroom with a walk in shower is located at the second floor, and a guest-toilette in the first. Additionally, exists an extraordinary outdoor-shower, useable almost the whole year.

Garden

The residence has many beautiful amenities. One of the most outstanding is the large garden with six levels, home-grown vegetables and its own well. Enjoy our pelion holiday apartment.

On the main terrace right next to the house, a pergola provides shade, combined with a massive natural stone table.

Outdoor shower

A fantastic outdoor shower with hot and cold water is located on the path to the well on the lower level of the holiday home.

Rest

Shady corners invite you to relax in the garden. Outdoor furniture such as hammocks, loungers and hanging chairs are available for resting in the shade or sunbathing.

Apartment, garden and surrounding area offer fantastic views to the South Pelion, over parts of the village and across the gulf to Volos. To enjoy the full panorama of the sea, it is enough to walk to the nearby chapel opposite.

An outdoor kitchen and a powerful gas grill invites you to do delicious barbecues.

The building

The building is constructed in accordance with the traditional Pelion mansion design, utilizing a combination of solid concrete, steel and brick. As a result, it cools down and warms up more quickly than natural stone houses, making it noticeably more comfortable to live in.

Inside, the building has been completely renovated and modernized, combining the charm of a country house with a touch of modern architecture.

Modern technology such as smart Hue lighting, Daikin air conditioning and a high-quality solar thermal system have been integrated.

All the plumbing and electrical installations were renewed, the roughcast replaced, a new kitchen and a new floor installed, and the fireplace lovingly restored.

The modern Pelion cottage with view in the village has a pretty good internet connection including LAN & Wi-Fi.

Use of private car, bikes, motorcycle or motorboat

If you are interested in our vehicles, we can make them available for an individual user fee, including liability insurance.

General Information

Usually the space is for 4–5 people (like we are), but in exceptional cases (like double family’s or small hiking groups) we can accommodate of course more persons.

ACCESS FOR GUESTS

Cottage and garden are at the guests’ complete and sole disposal. On arrival, you will find towels and fresh blankets. The beds will be prepared for you. Most of our guests need their privacy, so our caring service will visit the location only if needed. On request, we can also ensure that the apartment in Pelion is cleaned in between.

CHECK-IN

The official check in is after 3pm, check out before 11am. But most of the time we can arrange this flexibly. Check-in is possible at any time using our key safe.

OTHER IMPORTANT NOTICES

Parking is free, but the road through the village to the house is quite narrow. We recommend parking on the close outskirts of the village after you have left your luggage or shopping at the house. Further information can be found here.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The bus is not far away, but it runs only 4 times a day. The main bus station in Volos offers connections to all regional and long-distance buses in Greece.  More info here.

HOUSE RULES

Feel at home and respect the simple rules of decency. Respect your neighbors, don’t make noise or dirt. No illegal downloads. For exclusive use by the tenants of the cottage in a village. Strangers must be registered if they stay longer or overnight. The use of the vacation Home in South Pelion as an office, showroom, photo or film set is not permitted. In case you damage something, you should pay the replacement. The same applies if you lose your house keys.
