Just a two-minute walk away from the house, the village square of picturesque Lafkos invites you to linger in its charming surroundings.

The scenic village is perfect for nature lovers and people who enjoy when time stands still.

As well as excellent restaurants and cafés, there are two charming mini-markets, a selection of regional produce, and an authentic bakery with a wood-fired oven.

The landscape

Lafkos nestles gently into the natural landscape of the southern slopes of Mount Pelion.

The lush landscape begins directly below the house, offering fantastic views of the surrounding area.

The house is about 300 metres up. The Aegean and the Ionian coasts are both less than a 15-minute drive away.

The water in the Gulf is often as smooth as glass. In contrast, the Aegean Sea can produce impressive waves in windy or stormy conditions.

From the holiday home, numerous scenic walking trails lead to picturesque coastal towns and charming mountain villages across the Pelion Peninsula, making it an ideal base for anyone who enjoys exploring the region on foot or by bike.

Just below the Tisaion House, a good 45-minute walk through olive groves and along old stone paths, lies the charming coastal village of Milina with its many cafés and fish restaurants.

Since both coasts of the peninsula are easily accessible and each has its own unique charm, you can choose your destination at any time according to the weather, your mood, or whatever takes your fancy.

There is hardly any other place that offers more variety and amenities.

The fresh renovated cottage in the Pelion is fitted out with everything you need to live, work, or lounge in comfort.

Cooking and Dinner

If you like cooking, our kitchen gives you everything you might desire. 

There is beautiful crockery and high-quality furniture and appliances, from the cooker and oven to the smoothie maker, espresso machine and dishwasher. We also have a cozy dining table with seating for 6 in the holiday home.

On top of that, our pantry has everything you need and offers a wide range of food, drinks, spices and herbs that can be used as desired.

Sleeping

Upstairs are two lovingly bedrooms, with an exceptional view over the green valleys and the little village, Lafkos. 

There is additional space for a baby crib or mattress too.

Wooden cabinets providing enough storage capacity for fashion, winter gear and summer season together. 

Linen curtains and wooden shutters in any room ensure that the whole house can be completely darkened.

Balcony

The bedrooms have wooden parquet flooring and a large balcony offering a fantastic panoramic view of a small Byzantine chapel and the Tisaion Mountains.

Living room

The ground floor has a lovely living room, perfect for relaxing in winter and summer. There’s also a small work area with a desk, in case you need to get some work done. There’s plenty of space to have a drink, read a book, listen to music or watch a film, and you can connect your device to our hi-fi system via 24-bit Bluetooth or a cable. The living room also has a comfy sofa bed for two extra guests, as well as a single bed for you.

One highlight at the residence is is undoubtedly the fireplace, which enhances every winter day.

Bathroom

For showering and grooming, we have a modern bathroom on the second floor, featuring a walk-in shower, and a guest toilet on the ground floor. We also have a stunning outdoor shower, which can be used almost all year round.

Garden

The residence has many beautiful amenities. One of the most outstanding is the large garden with a great outdoor shower, six levels, fresh vegetables and its own well.

On the main terrace right next to the house, a pergola provides shade, combined with a massive natural stone table.

A fantastic outdoor shower with hot and cold water is located on the path to the well on the lower level of the holiday home.

Rest

Shady corners invite you to relax in the garden. Outdoor furniture such as hammocks, loungers and hanging chairs are available for resting in the shade or sunbathing.

The Tisaion House offers a fantastic view of the southern part of Pelion and the picturesque parts of the village. To take in the full sea panorama and the view across the gulf as far as Volos, simply walk to the nearby chapel on the opposite side.

An outdoor kitchen and a powerful gas grill invites you to do delicious barbecues.

The building

The Tisaion house is constructed in accordance with the traditional Pelion mansion design, utilizing a combination of solid concrete, steel and brick and is earthquake-proof. Thanks to its diffusion-open construction, it cools down and warms up quickly, making it noticeably more comfortable to live in: quiet, dry, natural, well-tempered, and healthy. With the modern Daikin air conditioning system, you can quickly and flexibly adjust the temperature to suit your needs.

Inside, the building has been completely renovated and modernized, combining the charm of a country house with a touch of modern architecture.

Modern technology such as smart Hue lighting, Daikin air conditioning and a high-quality solar thermal system have been integrated.

All the plumbing and electrical installations were renewed, the roughcast replaced, a new kitchen and a new floor installed, and the fireplace lovingly restored.

The modern Pelion cottage has a pretty good internet connection, including LAN & Wi-Fi.

Use of private car, bikes, motorcycle or motorboat

If you are interested in our vehicles, we can make them available for an individual user fee, including liability insurance.

General Information

Usually the space is for 4 people (like we are), but in exceptional cases (like double family’s or small hiking groups) we can easily accommodate more people.

ACCESS FOR GUESTS

Cottage and garden are at the guests’ complete and sole disposal. On arrival, you will find towels and fresh blankets. The beds will be prepared for you. Most of our guests need their privacy, so our caring service will visit the location only if needed. On request, we can also ensure that the flat is cleaned in between.

CHECK-IN

The official check in is after 3pm, check out before 11am. But most of the time we can arrange this flexibly. Check-in is possible at any time using our key safe.

PARKING

Parking is free, but the road through the village to the house is quite narrow. If you do not have a heavy load, we recommend that you park in one of the nearby parking lots on the outskirts of the village. Further information can be found here.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The bus is not far away, but it runs only 4 times a day. The main bus station in Volos offers connections to all regional and long-distance buses in Greece.  More info here.

HOUSE RULES

Feel at home and respect the simple rules of decency. Respect your neighbors, don’t make noise or dirt. No illegal downloads. For exclusive use by the tenants of the Tisaion House. Strangers must be registered if they stay longer or overnight. The use of the cottage in South Pelion as an office, showroom, photo or film set is not permitted. In case you damage something, you should pay the replacement. The same applies if you lose your house keys.
