The south coasts
Enjoy crystal water on the Aegean Sea or the gulf side, including fantastic lonely places, with untouched tranquility. Simply a choice depending on time, sun, weather and waves conditions.
Be aware, there is no mass tourism in the area. Therefore, the beaches, coves and other destinations are never crowded, even in high season.
The most targets around are reachable by car in less as a half an hour. The next beaches are just 10 minutes away. See more and get directions within our personal guide’s.
The coasts and bays are so numerous and varied that it would take a lifetime to visit them all.
Very often the water in the gulf resembles a lake or swimming pool and is ideal for all those water sports enthusiasts who value a calm sea.
The gulf is also most recommend if you like to go in the afternoon for swimming because of the sundown there.
In the summer month in Melina until October, you might enjoy every Thursday great poetic music with the fantastic duo above.
When the singing skater meets the fishing cowboy surfing on the sun warped rails of Greek Rembetiko.

Discover unique mountain villages
The Pelion area invites you to explore its rich history with over 40 mountain villages built by skilled stonemasons from the Epirus region.
The self-governing mountain communities flourished, trading in olive oil, olives, fruit, chestnuts, silk and wood and transporting their goods to the sea on mules.
Despite the years that passed by, many of the traditional roads are still in very good shape due to efforts done by local communities.

Living in light and change
The peninsula is constantly changing its face. In the north, the fir forests at 1600 meters tell of the Central European highlands, and in the south, the dry nature and clear colors remembers the south of Italy.
“I believe that all ugliness disappears when you have light like this”, said Henry Miller once, and was not alone in this view.
